Giant Sunflower single seeds are a fun favourite with children. Easy and quick to grow with huge heads on giant stems, they make for a fun competition to see who can grow the tallest sunflower. Sunflowers add warmth and vibrancy to any outdoors space, and attract a wealth of bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects to your garden. The spent heads can also be used to feed birds during the winter.
Latin Name – Helianthus annuus
Sowing Instructions – Sow sunflower seeds from April to May, individually in 10cm pots of peat-free, multi-purpose compost. Plant out into the garden when all risk of frost has passed, from early June.
Hints and Tips – Try plating with other varities like Soraya for a spectacular display.
