Description
Latin Name – Spinacia Oleracea
Sowing Instructions – Sow outdoors February to August in a prepared seed bed in a sunny position. Sow thinly 2cm (3/4in) deep in rows 30cm (12in) apart and cover with fine soil. Thin seedlings out to 15cm (6in) apart. Keep well-watered in dry weather to discourage bolting.
Harvest: May to September. Pick baby leaves to use in salads. Harvest leaves regularly.
Hints and Tips – Regular sowings, made every two to three weeks, will ensure a continuous supply. Pick young leaves regularly to encourage further growth.
