The wonderful variety Bandera sets a new standard in Lavandula stoechas. Bandera is highly uniform with a well branched compact plant habit, topped with many well shaped flowers, covering the silver coloured leaves. Heavy flowering, mounding plants are quick to bloom the first year, becoming hidden beneath showy deep rose flowers all spring and summer. Just 7-9 in. tall and 12 in. wide, Bandera Deep Rose Spanish lavender fit perfectly in sunny patio containers, or as edging to a walkway.
Latin Name – Lavandula stoechas
Sowing Instructions – Sow lavender seed in clean cell packs or flats, use a packaged sterilized soilless mix. Seedlings could dampen-off otherwise. Press seed into soil. Do not cover, needs light to germinate. Do not use a humidity dome. Kept at 65°F., germination is in 2-3 weeks. Transplant seedlings into the garden 12-18 in. apart.
